Personal Film Favorites: Hitman: Agent 47 (
The first official trailer for Hitman: Agent 47.

Hitman: Agent 47 is based off the hugely selling video game franchise "Hitman." The film is a sequel/reboot to the 2007 film "Hitman" (which received mostly negative reviews by critics yet positive reviews by viewers) and was released in August of 2015 and received overwhelming negative reviews by both critics and viewers. It holds an 8% on Rotten Tomatoes.

To me this is not a reboot and it's not a sequel, it's the first attempt at a Hitman film because unlike the 2007 film, this had a story and they found an actor that looks more like 47 and had 47's attitude. If only they would of worked more on Friend's hairline it would of been better.

The film is mainly based off of the first game (Codename 47) but mixes elements of the second game (Silent Assassin) as well. The first 30 minutes of the film is a surprisingly solid Hitman movie but then becomes your standard Hollywood Action film. The sins of the film are great, but not as many as the 2007 abomination.

I hope there will be a sequel with Rupert as 47 again since he has the role down really well and I hope it will have a much stronger story, less shooting, more stealth. This film had a lot, a believable Hitman universe, 47's gadgets, 47's attitude and it tried to be a Hitman movie. Tried, but not hard enough. If nothing else it's a good action film.

  • (deleted) Olyphant's performance was way better than this schmuck's. And in the first one, he was agent 47 too. To replace him with a guy who barely has any charisma is beyond me. And the story didn't speak to me either. I turned it off half way through.
    • Fear57 A lot of people like Olyphant's performance, a lot of people hated it, but a lot more liked Friend's performance better. At the end of the day, the real 47 (David Bateson) was asked what he thought of Timothy Olyphant. Exact words, "He's crap." Don't take my word for it, he's on video saying it.

Olyhpant looked much too young, had too many facial expressions and a voice that wasn't deep enough. Friend only had one or two expressions at the most, looks older than he is and had an emotionless voice. None of this matters though as the real 47 is returning to us on the 11'th for his sixth game.
      • (deleted) I can fathom he resembles the game character more, but for an actor, as much as for a movie, I sincerely found this one lacking credibility and performance. But it happens often, when they decide to make movies off of games
  • Robin It was way better than the first one (which had a black hitman??? :p), but the game is still the best though.
